Dental composite filling before and after
The dental problem
Our patient was unhappy with a discoloured filling on her front right tooth. The problem arose when she broke the
tooth in a childhood accident and, over time, the filling turned a yellow colour which was especially noticeable
when photographed using a flash.
Not only was she unhappy with the colour, but she also felt that the filling was too wide and neither of her
front teeth were the same shape.
What we did
There were a couple of options available to our patient: she could either go for a ceramic veneer, or a new
composite filling (designed to look and feel natural).
After assessing the options, she and her dentist decided to custom build a new composite filling to replace the old
one. To complete the look, we also placed small composite fillings on each of the neighbouring teeth. This helped
repairtooth damage and improved the symmetry of her smile.
The result
In a single appointment we made a dramatic improvement in her smile by evening out the natural colour and
shape of her teeth.
